Business Enterprise Support (BES) are a social enterprise, non-profit organisation who assist people in their journey to becoming self-employed. BES have been established since 1983 and have helped all variations of trades and business, through planning, preparation and gaining the necessary skills to succeed.
During October 2013 BES had reached critical point after months of consistent technical faults with their third party internet line. As an organisation that relies heavily on the internet for everyday productivity, including remote working, this was now having a detrimental effect that could jeopardise existing contracts and operationally cripple the business.
It was now vital that business continuity was reviewed, BES needed a rapid solution that would not only facilitate the immediate requirements of the business but also form the basis of a complete new disaster recovery plan and provide future stability.
MT Services have been in partnership with BES since 2009 providing IT support, products and services. Having gained significant knowledge of the business and an understanding the vulnerability that BES were now exposed to, we presented an immediate solution that would give complete accessibility from any location using thin client technology.
Utilising our in house hosting platform as the base for connectivity, we moved the network Domain Controller from BES and relocated it to our facility and deployed terminal services. Now the customer could have their team working from the office, home or any location. Relocating temporarily to our premises in Tamworth, meaning their network would now be completely accessible at all times, we also offered this in the event of a failure.
Over the course of the following twelve months BES have continued to work successfully, confident in the knowledge that their organisation has the IT systems and expertise in place to provide both a reliable and flexible working platform.
