From the archive – Microsoft Mail

As part of MT Services 50th year, we are looking back through our archive at key products in the history of the business. This time, Microsoft Mail, which enabled MT Services to provide Lan & Wan email communication to our customers before the internet.

Microsoft Mail was a messaging and email system developed by Microsoft in the late 1980s and early 1990s. It was designed for use on networks and remote connections via modems, allowing users to send and receive email messages within the organization.

However, as the internet became more popular and email systems like SMTP and POP3 gained wider acceptance, Microsoft Mail began to lose its popularity. Microsoft eventually discontinued support for Microsoft Mail and replaced it with Microsoft Exchange Server, which is still widely used today.
